Estonia has this week taken over the 6-month rolling presidency of the Council of the European Union. High in its list of priorities is the advancement of digital Europe, including the 'freedom of movement of data' - the ambition being to foster a smart economy by ending unjustified data location restrictions and encouraging interoperability of data resources. The country of e-Residency and the world's first 'data embassy', Estonia has marked itself out as an innovative, tech-friendly country in recent times. Will it be able to lead the rest of the European Union in the same direction over the next six months? Will digital skills feature on its list of priorities? With a dedicated digital summit in the pipeline, all will become clear...
